Six labels. No ambiguity.
Every statement we publish carries one of these classes, so readers can see exactly how strong the evidence is.
Established by records
Supported by primary documents: filings, judgments, gazettes, registries or official statements.
Claimed, not proven
Made by a named party or earlier publication. Attributed, never presented as fact.
Worth examining
A pattern or connection that warrants inquiry. Not a finding and not an accusation.
Interpretation
Our reasoning about documented facts, with the method and limitations shown.
Could not confirm
Published only where the claim itself is newsworthy, and clearly flagged as unconfirmed.
Our judgment
A reasoned position the editors take on the evidence, signed off at the highest editorial level.
Verification is the product.
Nine stages between a tip and a published story. Two of them — fact-check and right of response — can never be skipped.
Right of response
Anyone named in our reporting is contacted with the specific findings before publication, and given reasonable time to reply.
- Date and method of contact
- Response deadline
- Response received — published in full or fairly summarised
- No-response status recorded
Corrections
Errors are corrected openly. Every material change is dated and explained on the story itself and in a public log.
- Original publication date
- Correction date and explanation
- Updated source, where relevant
- No silent material changes
Faujileaks is an investigative research and publishing platform. Information is evaluated using publicly available records, documents and other lawful sources. The presence of a person, company, institution or relationship in our databases does not by itself imply wrongdoing. Allegations are distinguished from verified facts, and subjects are given an opportunity to respond where appropriate.
